Stretching thresholds, holding streams is a project initiated by artist Jeanne van Heeswijk and developed with Sophie Mak-Schram and collaborators. A growing constellation of invested people from the surroundings of the Museum are being invited to think in and with the museum's thresholds, as "streams". More details on the project as a whole here: https://migrosmuseum.ch/en/exhibitions/an-der-schwelle-des-museums-2

The recording of this audio was done during the last Monday Reading Session of the year 2024 hosted by arvae and the SAE Greenhouse. Since March 2023, these weekly reading sessions have been centering decolonial feminist perspectives on agroecology.

This session was included as a stream of the Migros Museum exhibition Stretching Thresholds, Holding Streams by Jeanne van Heeswijk and Sophie Mak-Schram. With a focus on water, we dove into a series of texts, scientific articles and poetry unpacking water through care, colonial entanglements, resistance and more.

The collective reading of texts took place with the participants of the session. The sounds have been saved and polished from the messy Greenhouse noises and our clumsy recording by Neil Darmon.

You can find the link to all the texts and a selection of more here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ZMixh24BLHzbv4LBofYuJ_8SnPf7mj_jNz_QSYbSddo/edit?usp=sharing

Enjoy listening!
